On behalf of the Dean of Kingston University Business School
I am very sorry to have to tell you that our colleague Steve Goodchild
passed away following heart failure yesterday. Steve died at 6.30pm with his family at his side. He had been ill for a few weeks and was admitted to hospital just over a week ago but his death was unexpected.
Steve had been at Kingston since 1990 and taught Management Accounting to many of our students, undergraduate and postgraduate alike. He had been closely involved with the MBA, the DMS and the Russian programmes for a long time. He was a popular lecturer and well known for his great enthusiasm and engagement with everything he did.
We will remember Steve’s larger than life personality, his great sense of fun, his kindness and his dedication to students and his affection for his colleagues.
He leaves behind his wife Sue, two sons and a grandson.
The funeral will take place at Guildford Crematorium, New Pond Road, Godalming, Surrey, GU7 3DB on Wednesday 20 April at 12 noon and all his friends and colleagues at the Business School are welcome.
