Max,I would go to Salzburg (300km west from Vienna) - but only if it's not too far for your trip. In Vienna itself... Hmm... on Saturday: absolutely terrific flea-market on Linke Wienzeile (8 min walk from Opernring). Almost as good as one in Rome! Better than some museums, too. On Sunday everything is closed! (well, maybe some museums are not, but I wouldn't count on it). Stand-up tickets to Opera are cheap indeed, but sometimes it's one hour waiting in line before the performance, and then 2.5 hours standing during... I'm too old for this ;) And as usually happens in every tourist capital, the best coffee-houses are 15 minutes away from the Rings. Everything closer is over-rated, over-crowded, etc.
